Making A Purchase

Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order. We accept, debit and credit cards as well as PayPal. If you do not wish to pay online, you may call us on 0141 552 7722 and place an order over the phone. If you have made a mistake in your order and cannot correct it in the shopping cart, contact us and we will correct the mistake.

When confirmation of your order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you a VAT invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.

Delivery / Shipping / Handling

We aim to e-mail all digital files within 30 minutes during our processing hours but turnaround does depend of the size of the files that are ordered. Larger files are sent by file transfer and extremely large files (e.g. aerial photography tiles) are sent via Royal Mail 1st Class Recorded post on a USB, CD or DVD (our mail is collected Monday to Friday at 4pm). Delivery times are estimates and are not guarantees. Processing hours: 09:00 to 17:30, Monday to Friday (we work most Bank holidays with the exception of Christmas and New Year). Our office hours are Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:30.

Tax Charges / Prices and Payment

Prices exclude VAT at 20%, which will be added to the total payable before you place your order. You are given the option of correcting any errors before you confirm your order to us. We will charge your credit card, debit card or Paypal account at the time of checkout.

Prices are liable to change at any time. Price changes will not be applied to orders where a dispatch/processing confirmation email has already been sent.

If we have made a pricing error by displaying a price which is lower than the correct price, we will either contact you before dispatching the product to give you the opportunity to buy the product at the correct price or reject your order.

If we have displayed an incorrect higher price, we will confirm the correct price to you in the dispatch confirmation email, dispatch the product and refund the difference to your credit card, debit card or Paypal account (depending on the payment method you used).

Credit Card Security

We use PayPal to process all payments via this site. In summary we never receive or store your credit card details.

We are an authorised Ordnance Survey Mapping and Data Centre, selling government mapping products.

Privacy Policy

UK Map Centre do not disclose buyers' information to third parties other than to Ordnance Survey who are the UKs Mapping Agency (reason: for product licensing).

Cookies are used on this shopping site where they are strictly necessary for the site functionality. They are used to aid navigation, and to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart. If you log in to an account, your logged-in status is recorded in a temporary cookie. If you select the 'Remember Me' Option in the checkout, a cookie will be used to remember your details. You can turn off cookies by blocking them in your browser Privacy settings. If you turn off cookies, you will be unable to place orders or benefit from the other features that use them.

Data collected by this site is used to:
a. Take and fulfil customer orders.
b. Administer and enhance the site and service.
c. Licensing via Ordnance Survey.

We do not intend to store or currently store your financial details (credit or debit card numbers) when placing an order on this site.

Damaged, defective or incorrectly supplied products

If your product is damaged, defective or is incorrectly supplied, please contact our Customer Services Team - e-mail us at . Please quote your order details and order number.

Returns Policy / Non-refundable products

You may not cancel a contract for any products which have been supplied to your specification or the product types below (unless the product is damaged, defective or incorrectly supplied):

i. OS Custom supplied mapping;

ii. Digital downloads, including digital mapping once you have started the download;

All of the brand, product and/or service names used in the Website and Website Services are trade marks of Ordnance Survey or their respective holders.

Our Liability

a. We warrant that all products you purchase from us will comply with their description, be of satisfactory quality and be reasonably fit for their purpose.

b. Our liability for losses you suffer as a result of us breaching this agreement is limited to the price you have paid for the product together with any losses which are a foreseeable consequence of us breaching the agreement. Losses are foreseeable where, at the time your order is accepted, they could be expected by you and us to occur as a result of a breach.

c. We are not responsible for (i) any indirect or consequential losses which could not be reasonably expected to you or us when the contract for the sale of products was formed; (ii) losses that were not caused by any breach on our part or (iii) any business loss (including loss of profits, revenue, contracts, anticipated savings, data, goodwill or wasted expenditure).

Applicable Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland and the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
